BIOGRAPHY:
Cristina Soler (Huelva, 1989) discovered her passion for flamenco singing at the age of twelve. She made her debut in her hometown under the guidance of Amparo Correa and soon became a member of the Peña Flamenca de Huelva, where she strengthened her training before continuing her studies at the Cristina Heeren Foundation in Seville, learning from maestros such as Arcángel, Calixto Sánchez or Paco Taranto.
With a solid career behind her, she has taken part in both national and international festivals, including the Juan Talega Flamenco Festival and the Adelaide Fringe in Australia, as well as the AIE’s Flamencos en Ruta series. She has contributed to recording projects such as Nuevos Valores del Fandango de Huelva and Tan cerca, tan lejos with the Chekara Orchestra. She starred in the production The Wizard of Oz for a decade, with the Búho & Maravillas company, and in 2015 premiered her first original show, Mar de Cobre.
Awarded at prestigious competitions such as the International Festival del Cante de las Minas and the Lo Ferro Festival, she currently balances performances in flamenco venues and dance companies with the release of her debut album, also entitled Mar de Cobre.
