Jose Luís Hernández

BIOGRAPHY:

José Luis Hernández (La Línea de la Concepción, 1992) is a flamenco singer and musician with a solid career and a strong musical curiosity. He began his artistic path singing alongside his sister, Teresa Hernández, performing rumbas and covers of bands such as Ketama or La Barbería del Sur, before delving into more traditional flamenco.

In 2014, he gave his first solo recital at the Peña Flamenca Cultural Linense and has since performed at renowned peñas such as Juanito Villar, Niño Barbate, Camarón de la Isla, and La Perla de Cádiz. He has collaborated on stage with major figures including Arcángel, Jorge Pardo, Nino de los Reyes, Pitingo, Raimundo Amador, and Belén López.

Since 2021, he has been based in Madrid, where he performs with companies such as those of Carlos Rodríguez, Antonio Gades, and the Ballet Español de la Comunidad de Madrid. He also appears regularly in flamenco venues including Las Carboneras, Corral de la Morería, Villa-Rosa, and the Centro Cultural de Madrid. In parallel, he pursues a more experimental line of work with the band 7xMedio, fusing flamenco with jazz and Afro-Cuban rhythms, together with Kike Terrón, “Enriquito” Rodríguez, Juanfe Pérez, and José María “Petaca”.
