Gabriel Matías

BIOGRAPHY:

Brazilian dancer and choreographer Gabriel Matías stands out for the maturity and elegance of his dance, in which he fuses the strength of contemporary flamenco with the purity of classical patterns. Born in Porto Alegre, he began his training at the age of 11 and built a solid career in Brazil before moving to Madrid in 2015, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Flamenco Dance Pedagogy at the María de Ávila Conservatory.

He has performed with leading flamenco companies and artists such as Antonio Canales or Rafaela Carrasco, and his work has been seen by audiences throughout Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Among his accolades are the AISGE Foundation Award and the Best Soloist Award at the Festival de Jerez. Committed to his roots, he still organises annual tours in Brazil.

He has premiered productions such as Ellos, Claroscuro, and Terra, and in 2025 he taught at the María de Ávila Conservatory as a specialist lecturer.
