David Cerreduela

Born in Madrid, in the flamenco neighbourhood of Caño Roto, he is the son of the legendary guitarist El Nani, and grandson of a guitar builder. At the age of 14 he began his career sharing stage with Lola Flores and Merche Esmeralda. Later, he joined the company of Antonio Canales, participating in Torero, Gitano (for which he composed much of the music), A cuerda y tacón and Bernarda Alba.

He worked with the bailaor Juan de Juan in Pueblos, composing its music. He has been a guitarist with the Spanish National Ballet and has performed along with artists such as Enrique Morente, Diego el Cigala or Guadiana. He has collaborated on records by Enrique Heredia ‘El Negri’, Los Chorbos and Guadiana.

He was the main guitarist at the tablao El Cordobés, in Barcelona, and currently performs at the main tablaos in Madrid with his son, Israel Cerreduela.
