The Flamenco Cultural Center in Madrid is launching the fourth edition of our dance competition. With the aim of promoting and encouraging emerging talent, the selected artists will have the opportunity to take to the stage with renowned professionals and showcase their skills in front of a specialist audience.
In addition, the winners will not only receive a cash prize (€500 or €1,000), but will also be able to take part in our regular program, starring in our flamenco tablao evenings for a week. Because if there’s one thing we’re sure of, it’s that this artistic discipline is learned by experiencing firsthand the lively and creative work that takes place every day on stage.
Not content with that, this year we are bringing back our Extraordinary Cultural Cycle Award, which aims to provide even more decisive support for creativity. The winner will enjoy a one-week artistic residency at the Amor de Dios flamenco studios, where they will create their own show that will form part of the special Cultural Dance Cycle program, sharing the bill with artists of the stature of Jesús Carmona and Lucía La Piñona. In addition, to facilitate the production of their proposal, the winner will receive the usual fee for the cycles.
Candidates over the age of 16 who wish to apply have until March 29 at midnight to submit their material via the online form, where they must provide the following information:
- Curriculum vitae.
- Video of a flamenco dance (uncut; minimum 7 minutes).
- Indicate three styles: the one to be danced in the semifinal and two options for the final (no styles may be repeated).
The list of selected candidates (between eight and ten semifinalists) will be published on April 5. Failure to comply with any of the above requirements will result in immediate disqualification from the competition.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity!
