BIOGRAPHY:
A Mexican flamenco dancer who combines her artistic career with her role as director of Mexico’s most traditional flamenco school, Las Cabales (founded 73 years ago), a position she has held since 2019. She began her training at that institution, which was previously directed by the teacher and choreographer Hilda Prats.
In Mexico, she has developed artistic and educational projects such as Huellas Flamencas, featuring national flamenco dancers, accompanied by musicians like Antonio Sánchez and Ismael Fernández, and choreographies by Jesús Carmona and Nino de los Reyes. She currently directs the Artistic Residencies at Las Cabales, featuring internationally renowned guest teachers, establishing herself as a driving force behind flamenco in Mexico through the creation, training, and promotion of this art form. She is also the creator of the shows perpetuARTE, in collaboration with the dancer Nino de los Reyes, and RADIX, alongside guest artists such as Alejandra Hernández, José Maya, and Nino de los Reyes.
She has been a member of companies such as José Porcel and Clara Ramona, and more recently was a member of the Ballet Español de la Comunidad de Madrid. She has shared the stage with prominent dancers such as Antonio Canales, Farruquito, Jesús Carmona, and Pedro Córdoba, as well as with musicians such as Juan José Suárez “Paquete” and Josemi Carmona, among others. She currently performs at various tablaos in Madrid, Barcelona, Granada, and Málaga.
She has been awarded First Prize in the Ibérica Contemporánea Choreography Competition, First Prize in the Villa Rosa Tablao Competition, Second Prize in the Las Carboneras Tablao Competition, as well as government honors in Mexico, including the Joven Promesa Jalisciense award.
