Born in New Mexico, Illeana has got a Master of Fine Arts degree and has dedicated her career to flamenco. She has trained in Spain with maestros such as Juana Amaya, Farruquito, Carmen Ledesma, Alfonso Losa or José Maya.
She has been awarded at prestigious dance competitions and has performed on international stages such as the Joyce Theatre in New York, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and the Albuquerque Flamenco Festival.
In 2010, she made history by becoming the first student in the U.S. to earn a master’s degree in dance with a specialisation in flamenco. She currently performs in the main tablaos in Madrid, sharing the stage with great artists.
