Born in Jerez de la Frontera in 1967, Juañares was trained in flamenco singing surrounded by a family of great artists, such as Terremoto, Los Sordera or Los Carrasco. He perfected his skills in Jerez and Madrid, performing in prestigious tablaos such as Zambra, Café de Chinitas, Casa Patas and Corral de la Morería.
He has worked with leading flamenco companies, collaborating as a singer and composer in shows by Joaquín Cortés (Pasión Gitana, Mi Soledad), Antonio Canales (Torero, Casa de Bernarda Alba), Sara Baras (Juana la Loca) and Antonio Gades (Bodas de Sangre).
He has shared the stage with artists as great as Manuela Carrasco, Farruquito or Rafael Amargo. He released his first album Juañares in 2003 and has collaborated with Ketama, Niña Pastori, Diego El Cigala and Tomate, among others. He has also composed for Los Chichos and Remedios Amaya. He was awarded first prize at the competition “Bulerías de Jerez”, by the prestigious Peña Tío José de Paula.
