Laura Fúnez is a flamenco and Spanish dance danzaora (dancer). She graduated from the RCPD Mariemma, being awarded the Virginia Valero Prize for Academic Achievement, and earned a Degree in Choreography and Performance at the Conservatorio Superior de Danza María de Ávila. She completed her training with a master’s degree in Cultural Management at the URJC. She has worked as prima ballerina and soloist in prestigious companies and is dedicated to researching the Escuela Bolera from a flamenco and contemporary perspective. She has brought this discipline into tablaos such as Las Carboneras, El Corral de la Morería, Villa Rosa and Centro Cultural Flamenco de Madrid. Her first show FÚNEZ fuses Flamenco and Escuela Bolera with live music and premiered at the III Suma Flamenca Joven. She teaches masterclasses in Spain and abroad and seeks to bring Spanish dance to new audiences. She serves as director and performer of video-dances Phoenix and Quimérico, exploring unconventional spaces based on a more experimental concept.
